James Barr providing planning advice to Gamesa Energy UK in relation to wind turbines throughout Scotland

Project: Wood pellet production, Scotland & Wales
Client: Land Energy Ltd

James Barr recently secured planning permission for 2 wood pellet production facilities for Land Energy Ltd. The two sites are located in Girvan, southern Scotland and Presteigne, Powys Wales.
The projects will see Land Energy make use of redundant brownfield sites and buildings to create jobs in the green energy sector. Both plants will use locally sourced virgin timber to manufacture the pellets and will be powered by on site biomass facilities, making the wood pellet manufacturing process 100% self sufficient in terms of energy demand.
James Barr provided initial planning advice to Land Energy on the key issues to be addressed via the planning process, managed sub-consultants, lodged supporting documentation and managed the processes through to successful outcomes. In relation to the Girvan site, James Barr Agency Department also provided advice on acquisition of the property and the Building Department provided a full building survey.
