James Barr and Hyde Harrington, in association with Audit Scotland, hosted a conference in Edinburgh on the 12 May to discuss asset management under Best Value.  A mixture of property, finance and strategy personnel attended from 14 Scottish Councils, along with representatives from the Scottish Executive.  The main topics covered were the Best Value Task Force Advisory Note and Audit Scotland's approach to their Best Value Audits.  There was a healthy sharing of views and opinions and all attending considered the conference to be a great success.
